Canada – Nechako Reservoir, BC
Triton deployed our SAWFISH™ harvester in the Nechako Reservoir. The reservoir is located in northern British Columbia, Canada and was formed by the construction of the Kenney Dam in 1952. The reservoir has a surface area of over 90,000 hectares.
Triton partnered with Alcan, the reservoir owner, and the Cheslatta Carrier Nation to harvest the submerged forests. The Cheslatta held a 10-year license allowing them access to more than 3 million cubic meters of the forest.
Triton introduced two SAWFISH™ as a proof of concept technology in the Nechako and harvested roughly 1,100m3.
