Tom Avery
Head of Resource Assessment & Development
Tom is a Registered Professional Forester in the Province of British Columbia, Canada and holds a degree in Natural Resource Management from the University of Northern British Columbia. Tom also holds an Honours Dipolma in Forest Technology from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Prior to joining Triton Resources, Tom worked for a major forest products company with responsibilities ranging from oversight of harvesting and road building contractors, log transportation contractors, engineering of roads and bridges and management of major forest road networks.
As Head of Triton’s Planning Department Tom and his team are responsible for development and implementation of Triton’s planning and valuation methodology for underwater forests. This encompasses all aspects of understanding submerged forests and creating Harvesting and Environmental Management Plans that achieve environmental, social and economic management objectives on reservoirs Triton operates on. Tom has also been a key member of Triton’s in country Management teams; launching and managing day to day operations of Triton’s subsidiaries in Malaysia, Ghana and Panama. Since 2013, Tom has been responsible for the development of Triton’s business in French Guiana.
